レザール・フロリサン

古楽器演奏に忠実な歌手と器楽奏者によるバロック音楽専門のオーケストラ、レザール・フロリサンは、世界でもっとも有名なグループのひとつである。1979年に創設されて以来、フランス＝アメリカ人のクラヴサン奏者で指揮者のウィリアム・クリスティが音楽監督をつとめている。2007年からは、イギリス人テノール歌手ポール・アグニューが副音楽監督となる。その名称は、マルカントワーヌ・シャルパンティエの小オペラ「レザール・フロリサン（邦訳＝花咲ける芸術）」からとられている。フランス音楽界では、フランスの「偉大な世紀」ばかりでなく、17、18世紀ヨーロッパ音楽一般など、それまで知られていなかったレパートリーを（とりわけフランス国立図書館の宝庫から）発掘して広めることに努めてきた。

1987年のオペラ・コミーク座でのリュリの「アティス」以来、2011年５月の再演も喝采をあびて、オペラの舞台は大成功をもたらしてきた。オペラでの活動が、演奏会でのレザール・フロリサンの活力を消しているわけではない。それは、オペラやオラトリオの演奏会形式やセミステージ形式による多数の素晴らしい演奏が証明している。

レザール・フロリサンは、毎年フランスで100回以上ものコンサートやオペラ上演をおこなっている─2015年からレジデントとして迎えられたフィルハーモニー・ド・パリをはじめ、多数の劇場、オペラ、フェスティヴァルなどで。海外では、定期的にニューヨーク、ロンドン、エディンバラ、ブリュッセル、ウィーン、ザルツブルク、マドリッド、バルセロナ、モスクワ、等々で、フランス文化大使という役割を積極的に果たしている。

レザール・フロリサンによる録音とビデオという文化遺産は、年々豊かになっている。100以上ものタイトルのなかには、ウィリアム・クリスティと副監督ポール・アグニューが指揮して、フランス・ハルモニア・ムンディと提携した、自主レーベル“Les Éditions Arts Florissants”もある。

レザール・フロリサンは、数年前から若手音楽家への伝承と教育のさまざまな活動をおこなってきた。もっとも象徴的なのは、2002年に設立された隔年のアカデミー「声の庭」で、すでにかなりの数の新しい歌手たちを登場させ欧米の音楽シーンで活躍させている。また2007年からは、ウィリアム・クリスティとレザール・フロリサン、そしてニューヨークのジュリアード音楽院がパートナーとなり、フランスとアメリカの真の芸術交流をおこなっている。

このような活動面すべてを結びつけるために、ウィリアム・クリスティとレザール・フロリサンは、ヴァンデ県議会と提携して「クリスティの庭で」フェスティヴァルを創設した。毎年のフェスティヴァルは、レザール・フロリサンのアーティスト、ジュリアード音楽院の学生、そして「声の庭」の受賞者たちを集めて、ウィリアム・クリスティがヴァンデ県のティレに作った庭園でのコンサートや「音楽散歩」などを催している。このフェスティヴァルに加えて、レザール・フロリサンは、ティレに永続的な文化的場所を展開させるための寄付基金「ウィリアム・クリスティの音楽の庭」と提携している。2017年には、この地への定着がさらに強化される多数の重要な出来事があった。すなわち、ティレ地域への「声の庭」の設置、ポール・アグニューの監督による「春のフェスティヴァル」の創設、フォントヴロー修道院での毎年の新しい音楽公演の開始、ヴァンデ県とロワール地方局の支援とともにレザール・フロリサンと「音楽の庭」のプロジェクトに対する文化通信省による「文化交流センター」という名称の付与である。2018年2月には、ウィリアム・クリスティ＝レザール・フロリサン財団がフランス政府から公益財団法人として認可された。

レザール・フロリサンは、文化通信省、ヴァンデ県とロワール地方局によって支援されている。重要な支援団体は、セルツ財団、レザール・フロリサン・アメリカン・フレンズ、クレディ・アグリコル・コーポレート・アンド・インヴェストメント・バンク【クレディ・アグリコル・CIB】である。

Founded in 1979 by William Christie, Les Arts Florissants has become one of the most internationally acclaimed Baroque vocal and instrumental ensembles. Specialized in the performance of Baroque music on period instruments, Les Arts Florissants has played a pioneering role in the revival of 17th and 18th century Baroque repertoire. Under the baton of William Christie and Paul Agnew, the Ensemble gives around 100 performances each year in France and all over the world in the most prestigious venues, for staged or semi-staged performances of operas and oratorios, large-scale concerts, as well as chamber music and vocal concerts. Les Arts Florissants has launched several education programs for young musicians : Le Jardin des Voix, its Academy for young singers created in 2002 ; a partnership with the Juilliard School since 2007 ; and the Arts Flo Juniors program for conservatory instrumentalist students. It also organizes numerous outreach and educational events aimed at building new audiences. In order to allow everyone to discover its rich repertoire, Les Arts Florissants has produced an impressive discography of nearly 100 recordings (CD and DVD), especially with its own collection in collaboration with harmonia mundi. In residence at the Philharmonie de Paris since 2015, Les Arts Florissants also develops a strong attachment to the Vendée, a region of France where William Christie has made his home. It is indeed in the village of Thiré, where he lives, that the Festival Dans les Jardins de William Christie was launched in 2012 in partnership with the Conseil départemental de la Vendée. This place is now set to become the beating heart of Les Arts Florissant’s activities, with several key projects. 2017 was a turning point in this respect, with the settlement of the Jardin des Voix in Thiré, the creation of a Spring Festival directed by Paul Agnew, and the obtention of the French national label « Centre Culturel de Rencontre ». In 2018 has been created the Fondation Les Arts Florissants – William Christie. William Christie gifted his entire Thiré estate to the Foundation.
